Becoming a Hero

If you could have a super power, what would it be? And what would you do with it?

Would you save the world? Or destroy it? Maybe you’d just use it to make your life a little simpler.

Write a few sentences on your power and heroic (or villainous) identity and go from there. What are your limits or weakness? What’s your color scheme?

Next, jot down a few notes on your objectives. Do you want to help or harm? Or maybe you’re indifferent to the needs of others, and only look our for yourself.

After that, decide your backstory. Every hero or villain needs an origin story. It can be some great event that guides your character down a dark path. Or it could be a crisis averted that inspires change.

And finally, decide on the story’s direction! Is it a lighthearted take on the normal life of a boy who can turn invisible? Or maybe a grim tale about a renegade radioactive squirrel.

Any way you slice it you’re now halfway to a great story. Take these ideas and go forth to create something fantastic!
