Hello Writers!

Interested in expanding your writing skills and getting involved in some fun new programs? Well then buckle up and sharpen your pencils! Here is a roundup of some upcoming writing workshops and events for teens in the Boston area that will be taking place this fall:

The 3rd annual Boston Teen Author Festival will be taking place this Saturday, September 27 from 11-4 at the Cambridge Public Library. To kickoff the event, there will be a course focusing on what gives a writing piece a voice, open to all writers. If you would like to participate, email BTAFworkshop@gmail.com with your interest and specify how many people will be attending with you. GrubStreet, a creative writing center, will be offering a 6-week Teen Writing Camp focusing on fiction and personal essays for young authors ages 13-18. The sessions will take place on Fridays from 4-6 beginning October 3. Maximum enrollment is 10 students, so don’t hesitate if you are interested! GrubStreet’s Young Adult Writers Program (YAWP) offers free Saturday sessions with creative writing workshops once a month during the fall. The next session will take place on Saturday, October 25, and students can choose from one of three classes, each from 12-3:30, and an open mic reading until 4.
